Phase 4 Stereo (164)
London Records put out its Phase 4 Stereo series starting in 1961. It was meant to compete with folks like Command Records and RCA/Victor’s Living Stereo and Stereo Action lines. All of these record companies were all trying to tap into the record buying public’s desire for highly produced stereo records meant to show off high-end audio systems. And even now, these releases are loved for their precise arrangements and technical innovation. So, this week, we listen to selections from the Phase 4 Stereo series including works from Ted Heath, Les Paul, Roland Shaw, and many more.
