Skating Into 2018

January 18, 2018

We're back... and better than ever! (Well, we're definitely back.) Many, many sports things are worthy of discussion at BNDWGN HQ, so let's get started...

1:05 THE MOST INTERESTING STORIES IN THE WORLD
Team Bandwagon has plenty of grist for the mill, including Australian Open tennis dish, Illini men's basketball mumblings, and an inventory of our fitness routines. John & Brian run a lot.

14:30 VOCAL LOCAL
Speed skater Katherine Reutter-Adamek  gets on the horn with John, Brian, and Lisa to discuss her recent experience at the Olympic trials, and how adding mindfulness to her training has made a difference. She's also planning to visit Champaign soon!

39:08 CONTROVERSY!
Leaks are a way of life in this modern world. No, not like faucets or roofs... but of sensitive information about trades, salaries, and more. Lisa goes over the recent controversy in soccer's English Premier League regarding the premature announcement of a looming (now complete) trade over the holidays.

45:09 STATUS UPDATE!
Stuff we noticed recently on a variety of social media platforms: Teams acting so proud of beating crappy teams perplexed John. Serena Williams' scary story about her daughter's birth, which added hugely to the ongoing conversation about maternal health, captivated Lisa. And the mixed emotions of Chicago Bulls fans ("You're winning! Yay! Please stop winning!") fascinated Brian.

That's our 47th episode in the books, y'all! Join us next time for #48, but in the meantime, we've got Twitter...
