Marin Alsop has been conductor of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra since 2007. Born in New York, she studied at Yale and the Juilliard School of Music. At the Tanglewood Music Center, she studied conducting with Leonard Bernstein. She has recorded widely with many orchestras, as well as the Baltimore ensemble, with which we will hear her conduct the music of Antonin Dvorak as well as George Gershwin on Classics of the Phonograph Saturday at 11 am on WILL-FM.
