Serge Koussivitzky
Serge Koussevitzky was the conductor of the Boston Symphony Orchestra from 1924 to 1949. It is said that he found a good orchestra in Boston and he left it a great one. His special forte was romantic music of the 19th century and music of the 20th century. On Classics of the Phonograph, Saturday at 11 am on WILL-FM, we will hear him conduct music of Brahms, Sibelius and Prokofiev.
