Wednesday night June 26 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s the San Francisco Symphony. Igor Levit is the soloist in Beethoven’s “Emperor” “Piano Concerto”. Music Director Esa-Pekka Salonen conducts. Also on the program Beethoven’s “3rd Symphony” the “Eroica”.
Tuesday night June 25 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. Beatrice Rana is the soloist in Rachmaninoff’s “Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini”. Lahav Shani guest conducts. You’ll also hear Rachmaninoff’s “Symphonic Dances” and Prokofiev’s “Classical Symphony”.
Monday night June 24 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. Cellist Yo-Yo Ma is the soloist in Dvorak’s “Cello Concerto”. Kurt Masur conducts. Also on the program Beethoven’s “9th Symphony”.
Sunday night June 23 the Evening Concert starts at 5:00 o’clock with the “Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival”, followed at 6:00 by the “Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”, at 7:00 by Fiesta, and at 8:00 by Gateways Radio.
Thursday night June 20 at 7:00 on WILL-FM 90.9 you’ll hear another episode of “The Sound of 13”, a program that investigates the intersection between the 13th Amendment and classical music. At 8:00 it’s “The Middle”: a weekly, non-partisan call-in talk show on politics.
Wednesday night June 19 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s the San Francisco Symphony. You’ll hear Benjamin Britten’s “War Requiem” led by guest conductor Philippe Jordan. Also on the program Robert Schumann’s “4th Symphony”.
Tuesday night June 18 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. The featured work is Carl Orff’s “Carmina burana” led by guest conductor Osmo Vänskä. You’ll also hear Rautavaara’s “Cantus Arcitus” and Jessie Montgomery’s “Banner”.
Monday night June 17 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. From the Philharmonic’s archives you’ll hear Kurt Masur lead the group in Ludwig van Beethoven’s “1st Symphony” and Anton Bruckner’s “7th Symphony”.
