Constantino Gaito: an Argentine Post Romantic Genius
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1878, Gaito went to study in Naples, Italy. He was
encouraged and supported by Verdi, who championed his music. Overlooked for years, Gaito is
an amazing postromantic composer. We will hear his Piano Quintet, String Quartet No. 1, and
Cello Sonata.
