Mitsuko Uchida plays Beethoven’s 4th Piano Concerto with the Bavarian Radio Symphony

Tonight at 7:00 on the Evening Concert on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s “Carnegie Hall Live”.  Mitsuko Uchida is the pianist in Beethoven’s 4th Piano Concerto with the Bavarian Radio Symphony led by Mariss Jansons.  Also on the program solo encores by Uchida and Shostakovich’s 5th Symphony. Beethoven's 4th Piano Concerto was ground-breaking for its day [weren't many of his pieces?] and Shostakovich's 5th is a redemption (of sorts) following the 'debacle' of Lady Macbeth....
