Mid-American Gardener

Are your tomatoes too heavy for your bush? Try pantyhose!

In this week’s episode of Mid American Gardener, Karen Ruckle and Ella Maxwell join us in the studio to share some of their secrets to garden success, including how to solve all your tomato problems and the wonders of hydrangeas.

Karen shares insights on tomato cracking and shows a giant tomato variety from her garden. You might be wondering…doesn’t that large fruit break the branches and weigh down the tomato bush? She reveals a unique “tool” to support those heavy tomatoes: pantyhose. Tune in to learn more!

Ella invites us into the diverse world of hydrangeas, sharing new varieties and tricks to achieve those special blue blooms. They also answer your questions about rooting hormones, mole control, and low-light houseplants.
