Mid-American Gardener

Catching Up With Original Host and Show Creator…Jack Kelly

On May 21, 1992...WILL broadcast the premiere episode of a show about gardening in central Illinois. The host and creator of this show, Jack Kelly, was joined by three guests to launch "Illinois Gardener". One of those guests (Diane Noland) would also later go on to host the show for 20 years!

One of the guests who joined him that night (Diane Noland) would go on to host the show for 20 years. The show would later change it's name to "Mid-American Gardener". We caught up with Jack to talk about how this show was created, how it has managed to last all there years, and what he is up to these days.

We also go out and visit with the CU Plant People at their bi-annual "Plant Swap" event and see what kind of goodies we can bring home with us.

If you have questions (Be sure to send photos if you have them!), we’ve got you covered. Send questions to yourgarden@gmail.com, or check out our Facebook page and feel free to leave your questions there! We will try to get it answered on an upcoming show or web segment!
