Making Vegetable Gardening Easy and a Fried Floral Treat
It has been a while since we’ve seen Jennifer Nelson and Jennifer Fishburn on the show, but they came prepared with all the tips and tricks to start an easy vegetable garden and even gave us a cooking demonstration!
Jennifer Nelson brought in daylily buds from her garden and fried them up for us. While each flower only lasts a day in the yard, these buds can be enjoyed throughout the plant’s long summer blooming season!
Just whisk some flour, baking powder, salt, and a carbonated beverage of your choice to create a batter, and pop them in some oil until they turn golden brown. Speaking of veggies, Jennifer Fishburn talks us through the ins and outs of grow bags. For small spaces and easy care, grow bags are a low-maintenance and weed-free gardening solution. Jennifer suggests purchasing a bag based on how it looks in regard to size rather than what it is labeled as because sometimes it can be a bit misleading, and the bags aren’t quite big enough. For tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers, look for a grow bag similar to the size of a five-gallon bucket. You can even repurpose an old reusable shopping bag, as long as it’s fabric'
