Mid-American Gardener

MAG AT HOME - August 2020

With summer winding down, the MAG crew show off some treats from their gardens. We'll also discuss deadheading, and answer some viewer questions! Be sure to also check out some of our past Facebook Live episodes for more summer gardening tips, which can be found on the Mid-American Gardener facebook page!

Panelists Jen Nelson, Jennifer Fishburn and Ella Maxwell join host Tinisha Shade Spain for another episode of MAG AT HOME.

Tinisha shows off an impressive cabbage from her garden.

Not to be outdone, panelist Jen Nelson shows off a cabbage relative from her own garden.

Jennifer Fishburn shows us some of her cucumber varieties, and discusses when the best time is to pick them.

Panelist Ella Maxwell gives us some tips on deadheading.

If you have questions (send photos if you have them!), we’ve got you covered. Send questions to yourgarden@gmail.com, post them on Facebook, or leave us a voicemail at (217) 300-8224. We just might look to include them in a future show or podcast!

Plus, you can now follow us on Instagram!

Spring has Sprung and you’re almost out of time to get that last minute pruning done before it’s too late for the season. Late winter, early Spring is prime time pruning season and to discuss this and learn all about the perfect technique we’ve brought in a local expert in forestry and a friend of our show through the University of Illinois Extension office, Ryan Pankau.
