Mid-American Gardener: Put your soil to the test!

MAG: October 24m 2019

Elephant ears, pitcher plants and spider mites, Oh My!
We've all heard of the venus fly trap, but did you know there are other carniverous plants?  Panelist Phil Nixon shows off his personal bog loving pitcher plant and tells us how to keep them alive and healthy. This week we talk soil tests, hedge apples and whether or not those wooly worms can predict the weather.

Also, Tinisha shares some photos from her neck of the woods!  If you missed last night's show, we've got you covered!

If you have questions (send photos if you have them!), we’ve got you covered. Send questions to yourgarden@gmail.com, post them on Facebook, or leave us a voicemail at (217) 300-8224. We just might look to include them in a future show or podcast!

Pruning Tips with Ryan Pankau

Spring has Sprung and you’re almost out of time to get that last minute pruning done before it’s too late for the season. Late winter, early Spring is prime time pruning season and to discuss this and learn all about the perfect technique we’ve brought in a local expert in forestry and a friend of our show through the University of Illinois Extension office, Ryan Pankau.
