Peach Pruning and Early Spring Planting Guide

On this episode Tinisha Spain welcomes longtime horticulture specialist Chuck Voigt to talk peaches, planting guides, and those first garden tasks of the season.

Peach trees are famously productive… when they feel like it. Chuck calls them the “heartbreakers” of the fruit tree family, especially in central and northern Illinois where winter hardiness and late freezes can sabotage flower buds.
Plus more on growing onions, asparagus and clematis.  Later, Chuck considers penning a garden journal to take us through 365 days in the garden.
