Beginning Tuesday, all students at both public and private schools across the state will be staying home in an effort to stop the spread of the coronavirus. Universities and colleges in Illinois have also postponed in-person classes. On The 21st, we discussed how educators are handling the transition to virtual learning.

Just as students were packing up to leave campus for spring break, many received instructions not to come back. There’s been a stream of university announcements around Illinois suspending in-person classes, closing residence halls and cancelling events.
