UIUC will not provide on-campus access to abortion pills, despite overwhelming student support
Nearly three-quarters of students who participated in the Illinois Student Council election voted “Yes” when asked if they “support on-campus healthcare centers providing FDA-approved medication abortion pills to alleviate the barriers students frequently encounter when seeking pregnancy termination services." But the director of the McKinley Student Health Center at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign said the campus is not planning to provide on-campus access to abortion medications.
Still have your eclipse glasses? Don’t throw them away — recycle them at Parkland College
Parkland College in Champaign has collection boxes set up at the William M. Staerkel Planetarium and inside the Parkland College Learning Commons, according to a post on Facebook. The glasses will be donated to Astronomers Without Borders, a nonprofit organization that will vet the glasses for reusability and redistribute them around the world for upcoming annular and total eclipse events.
