The Senate Judiciary Committee is voting on Judge Brett Kavanaugh's Supreme Court nomination.
The University of Illinois has a new research center dedicated to bioprocessing, a broad term that essentially means turning plants into products – ranging from food to fuel, even cosmetics.
Illinois recipients of Temporary Aid for Needy Families - also known as TANF - will see an increase in the amount of their monthly grants in October. A $22 million boost was negotiated in the budget this year. Advocates for the poor say the difference may mean more families will be off the streets.
Roughly 100 people showed up to a town hall meeting at Urbana High School Tuesday night. The meeting was called in response to community concerns about student safety and, at points, grew contentious with parents and students complaining about a lack of security at the high school and a perceived lack of discipline.
