Illinois could be heading into a second year without a budget. Lawmakers are beginning their final day of the regularly-scheduled spring session without a deal.
Lawmakers were working Memorial Day and legislative leaders were meeting with Rauner in the afternoon, but the chances for an agreement are becoming slimmer by the hour. On Sunday, Gov. Bruce Rauner vowed to veto the spending plan approved by House Democrats last week.

There's an agreement in place between Gov. Bruce Rauner to extend Illinois' medical marijuana pilot program. Legislation filed Friday would extend the program to July 2020, and add two more qualifying conditions - post-traumatic stress disorder and terminal illness. The measure still requires a vote by lawmakers.
