New Bus Service Launches In Rantoul

Monday, November 7th, marks the first day for the Eagle Express --- a new commuter bus route serving Rantoul. Village officials requested the service to help get workers to jobs at the town's industrial park on the west side of town. 

24 year old Ashley Chemere Gibson of Champaign,  whose remains were found in Clinton Lake April 24. Investigators say was using cocaine at a home in Champaign days earlier, and found dead the following morning.

Champaign Man Pleads Guilty To Dismembering Body

Authorities say a Champaign woman whose remains were found in Clinton Lake last April had been using cocaine days before. Prosecutors revealed the results of an autopsy on the body of Ashley Gibson Monday in Champaign County Circuit Court, where Davion Hedrick, 27, of Champaign pleaded guilty to a count of dismembering a human body.

Mahomet-Seymour School Board To Vote On New Superintendent

The Mahomet-Seymour School Board is expected to approve a new school superintendent at a special meeting Monday night. A district news release says the candidate to be voted on is Lindsey Hall, the current superintendent of the Morton school district in Tazewell County.

McFadden Wins 4th Straight Women’s Wheelchair New York City Marathon

University of Illinois graduate Tatyana McFadden has swept the four major marathons for the fourth straight year by winning the New York City Marathon women's wheelchair race. The 2014 University of Illinois graduate finished Sunday with an unofficial time of 1 hour, 47 minutes, 43 seconds. The U of I's Josh George finished third in the men's wheelchair division.
