Danville Area Comm. College Pres. Talks Getting By Without State Funding

From time to time, we’re checking up with people to talk about the state budget impasse in Springfield. This time, we we’ll hear from Alice Marie Jacobs, the president of Danville Area Community College.

DACC, as it’s sometimes known, has already laid off employees and reduced programs this year to get through the fall and spring semesters without state funding.  Mostly recently, trustees approved a tuition increase.

Jacobs tells Illinois Public Media’s Jim Meadows that they’re considering more cutbacks, in case the budget impasse continues through the summer and fall.
