Health Alliance CEO On Maintaining Medicaid Services During State Budget Crisis

Jeff Ingrum, CEO of Urbana-based Health Alliance, says they expect to get their 130,000 Medicaid patients through the current state budget crisis without a disruption in service.

Health Alliance provides service to Medicaid patients in a 15-county area that includes Champaign-Urbana, Springfield and Peoria, through its Health Alliance Connect program. State funding accounts for nearly half of Medicaid funding in Illinois. That funding could come to a temporary halt on Wednesday, if there’s no agreement on a new state budget. And once there is a new state budget, it might include less funding for Medicaid.

Ingrum talked about how Health Alliance views the situation with Illinois Public Media's Jim Meadows.
