The Illinois baseball team's win streak continues, heading into the final three regular season home games vs. Nebraska next weekend.  The Illini broke out the lumber for Sunday's contest, completing a three-game sweep of Rutgers Sunday 28-13.

The results in Saturday's doubleheader were much tighter, with finals of 5-4 and 6-2.

Sunday's hitting stars included 2nd baseman Reid Roper, who was 3-6 with 6 RBI, including a grand slam home run, and catcher Jason Goldstein, who was 3-4 with 4 RBI, all 4 of those coming on a grand slam of his own that tied the game 9-9 in the fourth inning.  Left Fielder Ryan Nagle was 4-6 with 3 RBI.

Illinois put the game away with an 11-run 8th.

With Sunday's 24th straight victory, the Illini match the longest win streak this year in the NCAA, which also done by Texas A&M.   The Illini's 43 wins are 3rd on the program's all time list.
