A busy semester continues for Lyric Theatre @ Illinois. Their production of Puccini’s iconic opera “La Boheme” opens Thursday night at Krannert Center for the Performing Arts on the University of Illinois Urbana campus.

Illinois Public Media’s Brian Moline spoke with several performers from “La Boheme,” along with Nathan and Julie Gunn from Lyric Theatre about this production.

"It's a masterpiece," Nathan Gunn said. "Puccini was able to put together a show that is chock full of heightened emotion, something that everyone can relate to, and one great tune follows another great tune."

"It's really perfect," Julie Gunn said. "Every single thing is in there, every human emotion."

In this preview you hear Andrew Turner and Ryan Johnson as Rodolfo, Kimberly Oulette as Mimi, Grant Ebert as Marcello, and Grace Thompson as Musetta.
