Sinfonia Da Camera To Host ‘Homecoming At The Hall’

Sinfonia da Camera, the professional chamber orchestra in-residence at Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, is in concert Saturday night at Krannert's Foellinger Great Hall.
On this homecoming weekend at the University of Illinois' Urbana-Champaign campus, the title of the concert is "Homecoming at the Hall."
Illinois Public Media's Brian Moline spoke with Sinfonia da Camera's music director, Ian Hobson, about the program.
"We've got one very famous piece, which I think is very appropriate for the fall, that's Dvořák's eighth symphony," Hobson said. "At the beginning of the program, we have a short piece called "Pastorale d’été" by Honniger.
"And the central piece on the program is very unusual. It is a concerto by David Canfield, but it's a 'Concerto after Elgar.' It is performed by our principal violist Csaba Erdélyi."
