Sinfonia’s Student Concerto Competition

 

On this week's Prairie Performances, Friday at 7 pm on WILL-FM 90.9, a concert with Sinfonia da Camera conducted by Ian Hobson featuring two young artists who are first prize winners in Sinfonia’s annual Student Concerto Competition (2015). 

Flutist Mathew Reeder is the High School division winner and will perform Charles Tomlinson Griffes’ Poem for Flute and Orchestra. Pianist Muen Wei is winner of the College Division and will perform two movements from Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in Bb Minor. The second half of the concert will feature Sinfonia da Camera in a performance of the New World Symphony, No.9 by Antonin Dvorak.
