Symposium To Provide Researchers With Tools To Study LGBTQ Issues
Researchers will gather in Champaign for the Sixth Annual LGBTQ Research Symposium—a two-day event filled with workshops and discussions related to studying LGBTQ issues.
Ramona Faith Oswald is an event planner and professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign who teaches courses on gender, sexuality and research methods.
Oswald says it’s important that both aspiring and experienced researchers studying LGBTQ issues receive the mentoring and support they need.
“It is a small group of people nationwide who study these issues," said Oswald.
She says it’s a big deal when there is a space like the symposium that is dedicated to helping researchers who are interested in studying LGBTQ issues.
The U of I sponsored event runs Thursday and Friday at the I-Hotel and Conference Center in Champaign.
