Tribune Endorses Harold For Congress
Urbana attorney Erika Harold has picked up the endorsement of the Chicago Tribune in her campaign for Republican nomination in Illinois’ 13th Congressional District.
In a press release from her office, the newspaper says incumbent Rodney Davis of Taylorville is "running a cautious race. It's not an inspiring act. Harold is more passionate and forthright...Harold is saying things that need to be said, and Davis - the incumbent - isn't."
The article is based on a joint interview session with the Tribune’s editorial board. Harold says it’s ‘regrettable’ that Davis has yet to participate in a debate.
Davis and Harold face one other Republican in the 13th District race. The three Democrats vying for the seat are retired judge Ann Callis, University of Illinois public policy analyst David Green of Champaign, and U of I physics professor George Gollin of Champaign.
The Tribune has endoresed Gollin for the Democratic nomination.
