Urbana Lawmaker’s Son Dies

The son of State Representative Naomi Jakobsson has died following a long illness.

The Urbana Democrat's staff confirms that Garret Jakobsson, 46, passed away Tuesday night.  He had been in a hospice center in Mattoon.

Naomi Jakobssson made a brief appearance in Springfield late Tuesday afternoon in order to vote in favor of same-sex marriage legislation that passed the House with 61 votes - one more than the minimum needed to pass.
