Orange Krush

If you’ve ever been to a University of Illinois football or basketball game, you’ll see them: a loud (like, really loud) throng of students; many with faces painted orange and blue. Most wear Illinois shirts and pants. It’s a sea of screaming, crazy and unwavering support for Illinois players from the beginning to the end of each game. The Orange Krush, as this famous student organization calls itself, is an attraction for Illinois fans in and of itself, never mind the game.

But Orange Krush is also a charitable organization, donating more than two million dollars to local and national charities. In this short documentary, Orange Krush participants and the players they support give us a glimpse of what it takes to be a member of the organization, and how the school and larger community benefits.
