Illinois 13th Congressional District Debate live from WILL-TV studio
Illinois Public Media, NPR Illinois, NAACP of Champaign County, and the League of Women Voters of Champaign County will host an Illinois 13th Congressional District Debate between incumbent Republican Rodney Davis and Democratic challenger Mark Wicklund in the WILL-TV studio on the University of Illinois campus on Thursday, Oct. 13, from 7-8 pm.
Niala Boodhoo, host of WILL-AM 580’s The 21st, will moderate the debate in front of a live studio audience. She will be joined by panelists Amanda Vinicky, Statehouse Bureau Chief, Illinois Public Radio/NPR Illinois; Jamey Dunn, Illinois Issues Editor, NPR Illinois; and Jordan Abudayyeh, Political Reporter WICS NewsChannel 20.
Together they will give people a chance to hear these two candidates discuss the issues affecting Illinois’ 13th Congressional District, which stretches from Champaign-Urbana west to the Mississippi River and to the Illinois suburbs of St. Louis.
The debate will be broadcast live on Thursday, Oct. 13, from 7-8 pm on WILL-AM 580 and WILL-FM 90.9 out of Champaign-Urbana and WUIS 91.9 out of Springfield. WGLT 89.1 out of Bloomington-Normal will air the debate on Friday, Oct. 14. The debate will be rebroadcast on Monday, Oct. 17 on WILL-TV at 7 pm and on WSEC-TV (Springfield) at 9 pm.
