Daniel Romanchuk of Champaign repeated as men's wheelchair champion at the New York City Marathon Sunday, in another tight finish over Switzerland's Marcel Hug.

University of Illinois wheelchair athlete Daniel Romanchuk won the Chicago Marathon men’s wheelchair division Sunday for the second year in a row.

With all the attention on the Summer Olympics in Rio, some may not know that more events will be held in the city about three weeks from now.  Seven athletes from the University of Illinois are currently competing there, but seventeen others with connections to the Urbana campus are prepping for the Paralympics, starting September 7.  There's a chance to meet these athletes in downtown Champaign Sunday, including 4-time medialist Josh George.

University of Illinois graduate Tatyana McFadden has won her fourth straight women's wheelchair race at the Boston Marathon.  McFadden completed the 26.2-mile course from Hopkinton to Copley Square in an official time of 1 hour, 42 minutes, 16 seconds.
