This past Friday night, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis came to Peoria as the keynote speaker for the Peoria and Tazewell County Lincoln Day Dinner. The 21st was joined by two reporters who covered the event.

On March 7, 2022, candidates lined up outside the State Board of Elections office for hours to file to run in this year's primaries. We visited the line to hear some of their stories. Plus, we were joined by two veteran statehouse reporters to talk about the state of some of the races. 

The Illinois governor’s race is heating up.  We’re now five months away from the primaries which take place June 28th, and 10 months until the election on November 8th, and over the past week, money has begun to pour in. Today, The 21st was joined by two statehouse reporters from central Illinois to bring us up to speed on the latest developments.

In November 2021, President Joe Biden signed the $1-trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill. To talk about how the bill will specifically affect Illinois and what it could do for diversity, we were joined by a reporter and the executive director of a pre-apprenticeship carpentry program in Chicago.
