President Trump signed a bipartisan budget agreement Friday morning, following approval of the bill in Congress shortly before sunrise.

For the first time since summer ... Governor Bruce Rauner and the legislature's four top leaders got together Tuesday morning. The meeting didn't last long. Roughly a half an hour.  And another meeting was scheduled for Wednesday morning.

The House has passed Speaker Michael Madigan's plan to cut the current budget 2.25% across the board, while allowing the governor to transfer $1.3 billion from funds earmarked for other purposes.

Illinois' new governor and legislative leaders are figuring out how to deal with shortfalls in this year's budget.
