An autopsy was scheduled for Monday morning for 15-year-old Luke Miller, the Centennial High School student who died Saturday, after apparently being attacked by fellow students the day before.

A bond referendum to fund school construction is back on the ballot in the Champaign Unit Four school district this election season. This third version of the proposal is bigger than previous ones. Plus, there’s a big change of address for the most controversial project.

A bond referendum expected to appear on the November 8th ballot in the Champaign Unit Four school district will be reduced to $183 million, due to actions taken Monday night.

Champaign Unit 4 School Board President Chris Kloeppel says members heard overall positive results from a phone survey of 100 voters, favoring a bond issue on November ballots, as opposed to waiting until next spring. The board has less than two weeks to decide what language to place on those ballots.
