The Unit Four school board formed the committee to review ideas from another committee of faculty and staff, and provide community input for the district's facilities plans.

After two facilities referenda failed at the polls, the Champaign School Board will consider a committee plan that tries to get community input early in the process.

Attorney Sally Scott of Chicago-based Franczek Radelet provided a brief history of the Unit 4 consent decree, and its 2009 settlement to address racial inequities.  But community leaders who worked on the agreement want more changes in areas like discipline and hiring. 

Requiring only a simple majority, three Champaign Park Board commissioners rejected the plan for a land swap with the school district to place a new Central High School in Dodds Park.
