Nine years after it was closed due to mold and financial problems, state officials are asking potential developers to submit proposals for reopening the Eagle Creek Resort at Lake Shelbyville.
The Illinois Department of Natural Resources says it will seek a developer to build a new Eagle Creek Resort and Conference Center on Lake Shelbyville, because of the high cost of repairing the old facility cited in an engineers' assessment survey.
A task force led by Moultrie and Shelby County officials is searching for ways to reopen the state-owned Eagle Creek Resort, where mold and other problems have discouraged private operators.
