The student accused of hanging a noose in an elevator at a University of Illinois residence hall in Urbana is no longer enrolled on campus. A U of I spokesperson would not comment on whether 19-year-old Andrew Smith had been expelled, saying federal privacy laws prevent the release of any additional information.

At a press conference Sunday morning, officials said victims of a shooting rampage at a Pittsburgh synagogue range in age from 54 to 97. All but two of the victims were over the age of 65, and include one married couple, and two brothers. Six others were wounded, including four police officers.
