Cubit Out As Illini Football Coach; Groce To Stay As Men’s Basketball Coach

New University of Illinois Athletic Director Josh Whitman Saturday fired head football coach Bill Cubit. Cubit served as interim head coach for one season. The decision came on Whitman's first official day on the job.

UPDATE: U of I Hires Outside Firm To Investigate Football Coach Allegations

A University of Illinois spokesperson says they'll look into accusations by former Illini football player Simon Cvijanovic that coach Tim Beckman pressured him to play while injured, and that he he was misled about the extent of his injuries.
