You’ll hear Beethoven’s “Overture to Egmont” and Mendelssohn’s “3rd Symphony”, the ‘Scottish’. Osmo Vanska guest conducts. Also on the program Saariaho’s “Flute Concerto” with soloist Lorna McGhee.

Wednesday night Jul 20 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Los Angeles Philharmonic”.  Beatrice Rana is the soloist in Tchaikovsky’s “1st Piano Concerto”. Susanna Mälkki guest conducts.  Also on the program the world premiere of Kaija Saariaho’s “Vista”.

Wednesday night June 15 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra”. Lorna McGhee is the soloist in Kaija Sarriaho’s “Flute Concerto”.
