Illinois cities want legislation that would give broad legal protections to government employees like first responders. It's a response to an Illinois Supreme Court decision in January.

With the finalization of the agreement on December 24th, the University of Illinois says it will send settlement payments to Steven Salaita within 30 days, and Salaita will file motions to dismiss his lawsuits against the university.

There have been lawsuits against the NFL, but the one brought against the Illinois High School Association a year ago was the first class action suit against a prep sports governing body.

Anyone lucky enough to win $25,000 or more playing the Illinois Lottery is waiting for their money – officials say without a state budget, there's no way to pay.  Hence, the lawsuit. 

Illinois football coach Tim Beckman was fired for allegedly pushing student-athletes to play while injured.  A reporter found that many athletic trainers feel pressure from coaches to get players back on the field before they're ready.
