The 21st spoke to three Illinois reporters about the updated Centers For Disease Control & Prevention mask guidelines for K-12 schools, vaccinated people, Lollapalooza & vaccine efficacy.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.  ChristianTetzlaff is the soloist in Brahms’ “Violin Concerto”. Music Director Manfred Honeck conducts. Also on the program Saint-Saens’ “Organ” Symphony and John Adams’ “Lollapalooza”.

As more people are getting vaccinated and restrictions are easing, the return of pre-pandemic activities is looking promising. To speak more about what people can expect from upcoming festivals, The 21st was joined by three guests involved in or reporting on Illinois' music scenes. 

Illinois lawmakers want to prevent a shooting similar to the one that happened in Las Vegas last year. A proposal, approved by the Senate, addresses security concerns around large-scale events.
