Summer Music Festivals in Illinois
64% of Illinois adults have received at least one dose of the vaccine and last Friday, public health officials reported the lowest seven-day average of COVID-19 cases in Illinois since last July. As more people are getting vaccinated and restrictions are easing, the return of pre-pandemic activities is looking promising. Illinois is bringing back crowd favorites this summer as several music festivals, including Lollapalooza, Pitchfork and Summer Camp, announce their 2021 lineups.
To speak more about what people can expect from these upcoming festivals, The 21st was joined by three guests involved in or reporting on Illinois' music scenes.
Guests:
Andrew Limbong, Reporter for NPR’s Arts Desk
