Republicans have selected David Olsen, a onetime student body president at the University of Illinois Urbana campus to replace State Representative Ron Sandack, after he resigned his seat over cybersecurity issues.

Top-ranking Republican state Rep. Ron Sandack from suburban Chicago says he is resigning from the Illinois House, citing "cyber security issues.'' 

The measure limits expulsions, zero-tolerance policies and disciplinary fines in all public and charter schools. If signed into law, it would take effect in the 2016 school year.
