Best of: The Black history of Route 66

Two women from central and southern Illinois opened up the Route History museum in Springfield and are working to tell the stories of the tragedy, resilience, and excellence of Black people along the Historic Route 66.

Today on the 21st: A museum and shop in downtown Springfield highlights the contributions of Black entrepreneurs throughout history along Route 66. We heard some of those stories. Also, it’s the time of year to gather with loved ones binge all of your favorite holiday films. We got a roundup of some of the best, and worst, holiday films—with two Illinois film aficionados. We also explored what’s driving a trend in a teen subculture known as VSCO girls.
