Urbana District 116 Superintendent Don Owen will be leaving his job, according to a press release from the school district’s Board of Education.
 

The Assistant Superintendent of Learning and Instruction for Urbana School District 116, Samuel Byndom, has been charged with felony eavesdropping for allegedly trying to bug a closed door meeting of the Urbana Board of Education, the Champaign County State’s Attorney announced Thursday.

Urbana High School is a participant in a new statewide pilot program that allows students to demonstrate their knowledge through practical applications inside and outside the classroom.

The group's facilitator, Samuel Byndom, spoke with Illinois Public Media's Brian Moline about the progress the task force is making on fixing racial disparities in the Champaign County criminal justice system.
