Champaign firefighters observed the 16th anniversary of the September 11th attacks Monday morning, joining other observances across the country.

Illinois State Treasurer Mike Frerichs says he’s frustrated with the Trump Administration’s lack of transparency on medical marijuana. The Champaign Democrat says he’s written the president twice since U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions called the drug ‘dangerous’, but didn’t further explain if he was referring to medicinal, or recreational use.

Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner has signed legislation to force insurance companies to locate beneficiaries of unclaimed life insurance policies and pay them money they're owed. Democratic Treasurer Michael Frerichs says his office has identified more than $550 million in unpaid benefits owed to Illinois residents.
