Edward Feser had been the interim provost for the University's Urbana campus since September 2015.  He will serve as provost and executive vice president at Oregon State University in Corvalis.

University of Illinois President Timothy Killeen has named Robert J. Jones to be the new chancellor for the University's Urbana campus, and vice-president of the three-campus U of I system.  He will become the first African-American to hold the post of chancellor in Urbana.

For the first time in six years summer enrollment at the University of Illinois' largest campus is down. 

UPDATE Non-tenure track faculty at the University of Illinois Urbana campus voted Thursday to ratify their first-ever contract.

The opening ceremony came one week after the nearly 21 acre facility began supplying roughtly 2% of electricity used by the University of Illinois Urbana campus.
