The county's first case of Zika virus was confirmed Friday by Champaign-Urbana Public Health Administrator Julie Pryde. But she could not confirm whether that case involved a female University of Illinois student that reportedly sought treatment at McKinley Health Center after returning from a Zika-infected area.

Illinois Democratic U.S. Senator Dick Durbin says Republican members of the House 'blew it' by adding provisions to a measure to research the Zika Virus that Democratic members couldn't support. That's after a bipartisan Senate agreement to approve $1.1 billion in emergency Zika funding. Congress adjourned until after Labor Day without approving the plan.
