Illinois recovers from deadly tornadoes
Several dozen tornadoes struck seven states Friday night, and parts of Illinois from Belvidere to Crawford County were struck. Even areas of Illinois that didn’t experience tornadoes had to deal with high winds, rain, and hail that, in some cases, was big enough to break car windshields.
As communities take stock of the damage and pick up the pieces as best they can, The 21st was joined by journalists who have been following the story, an emergency management coordinator, and a climatologist.
