Illinois tells schools to continue Asian, Black and LGBT history while Trump takes national aim at diversity

 

There's a lot of questions about Illinois' budget for the next fiscal year. Governor JB Pritzker's budget proposal includes some new funding for education. Meanwhile, State Superintendent Tony Sanders has told districts to keep offering lessons about Black, Asian American, and LGBT history even as the federal government takes aim at diversity in education. Also, this week, Pritzker made the rounds in Washington in search of answers regarding almost two billion dollars in federal funding he says the Trump administration has cut off from Illinois.
