U Of I Interim Chancellor Wilson Promoted to Executive VP Post
Barbara Wilson, who has led the University of Illinois' Urbana campus since Phyllis Wise abruptly resigned as chancellor, is taking on a new role over the 3-campus system. As of Sept. 26, she'll assume her new duties as executive vice president and vice president for academic affairs, once Robert Jones arrives as the new campus chancellor.

Tornado Hits Southeast Champaign County
There are no reports of injuries, but at least two rural properties were destroyed near Homer and Broadlands. Meterologist Jeff Frame says he estimates the tornado, which stayed on the ground for 17 minutes, as an EF-2 based on the level of damage. There are also reports of at least one more tornado and some damage in Vermilion County.
